CASTROL USES AGENCY FOR FIRST TIME

Castrol Canada is using an agency for the first time to promote its automotive oil. The Oakville, Ont.-based company handed its business over to Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto late last month after the agency won a competition with two other shops. Castrol sales and marketing vice-president Bob MacDonald says in a release that two factors that helped swing the deal for GBV were the understanding of Castrol that the agency demonstrated and its extensive track record in the automotive industry. Castrol previously handled its advertising in-house. Castrol products are GTX, Syntec, Castrol XLR, Castrol Automotive and Castrol Industrial.
