RECYCLER TRIES ADVERTISING FOR THE FIRST TIME

Andrew & Cook of Toronto launched Metro Salvage's first ever ad campaign late in March. The direct mail and print ads promote metal recycling services provided by the company, which is located in Mississauga, Ont. Metro decided to start advertising because it wanted to continue the same heated growth it has enjoyed in the past two years, a period that saw its business double in volume, agency president Leo Cook told Adnews last week. Andrew & Cook picked up the account late last year without a review, on a referral from someone else in the ad industry. Metro's ad budget is $100,000.
