SUBWAY HIRES GOODBY, SILVERSTEIN

Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco has been hired by the Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund to handle global strategic planning and advertising for sandwich chain Subway of Milford, CT. Approximately 12 agencies were considered for the assignment, but formal pitches were not conducted, according to Chris Carroll, vice-president of marketing for the fund. "We looked at all the agencies who approached us in the past and asked for a number of new submissions," said Carroll. "In the end we were most impressed with GS&P. There didn't seem to be any reason to drag the process out any further." The fund retained Joanne Davis Consulting of New York to assist in the review process.
