REPORT: TARGET IN TALKS WITH HBC

U.S. retailer Target is reported to be in advanced talks with Toronto-based Hudson's Bay. According to The Globe and Mail, Target is negotiating to buy all or part of Hudson's Bay, which owns The Bay, Zellers and Home Outfitters chains. A deal could be reached within the next two weeks, but talks could also break off at any time, according to sources in the report. The deal would be the first international expansion for Target, which operates approximately 1,100 stores in 47 U.S. states.
