COCA-COLA BREAKS NEW BARQ'S ADVERTISING

Toronto-based Coca-Cola has begun a new television advertising campaign for Barq's root beer. The 2004 campaign continues to use the tagline "Barq's has bite," from the product's previous advertising. The ads also continue to depict a Barq's spokesperson visiting people door-to-door. Three 30-second commercials called "Romance Novel", "Geek" and "Psychic" are airing in Ontario. Two 15-second versions of "Geek" and "Romance Novel" will run nationally on specialty stations. A 45-second version of "Psychic" will play in theatres nationally from May 21 until June 17. The campaign will continue until late summer. The advertising was created by Cossette Communication-Marketing of Toronto. Public relations for Coca-Cola are handled by APEX Public Relations of Toronto.
