PEPSI AND WAYNE GRETZKY BEGIN HOCKEY INITIATIVE

Pepsi-Cola Canada and hockey player Wayne Gretzky have begun a program to give underprivileged children the chance to play hockey. The three-year deal will include advertising, retail promotions and a donation to the Wayne Gretzky Foundation, which operates the hockey program. Pepsi's funding will be used to purchase hockey equipment and ice time for for the program nationally. In a consumer promotion that will begin next week, four trips to the Wayne Gretzky Fantasy Hockey Camp will be given away. The national instant win contest will take place in stores and other locations where Pepsi products are sold. In-store materials created by Capital C of Toronto will support the promotion. Public relations for Pepsi are handled by Praxis Public Relations of Mississauga.
