GLAXOSMITHKLINE BEGINS GENITAL HERPES AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

GlaxoSmithKline of Mississauga is sponsoring a new genital herpes awareness campaign called "Modern Woman." The campaign, which began earlier this month, includes a toll-free number and a Web site at <http://www.herpeshealth.com>. Both provide information about the disease, safe sex practices, treatment options and advice on discussing herpes with doctors or sexual partners. The campaign also includes print ads in national consumer magazines, which will run until June. The ads suggest that readers "take control" and call the toll-free number or visit the Web site. Latteral Concepts in Healthcare worked on the Web site and Ogilvy Healthcare created the print ads. Public relations for GlaxoSmithKline are handled by Edelman of Toronto.
