CONVERSE SPONSORS CANADIAN UNIVERSITY BASKETBALL, SIGNS AGREEMENTS WITH FIRST ROUND NBA DRAFT PICKS

Converse Canada of Montreal has become the official footwear sponsor of several Canadian men's and women's basketball teams. Converse will provide the players and their coaches with basketball footwear for the 2003/2004 season. The company has signed deals with the teams of Carleton University, Bishop's University, McGill University, Queen's University, University of Toronto, Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Winnipeg, Lethbridge University and University of Alberta.
In related news, Converse of North Andover, MA has signed multi-year agreements with five first round NBA draft picks: Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors, Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat, Kirk Hinrich of the Chicago Bulls, Mike Sweetney of the New York Knicks, and Troy Bell of the Memphis Grizzlies. These players will wear Converse basketball shoes while the play. They will also participate in the company's basketball marketing and product development initiatives.
