BEER STORE RETAINS VAUGHN WHELAN

The Beer Store has appointed Vaughn Whelan & Partners Advertising its creative agency of record. Based in Mississauga, The Beer Store is the primary distribution and sales channel for beer in Ontario. The appointment does not affect The Beer Store's relationship with Bedrock Strategic Marketing Group of Toronto, which handles media and promotions. Vaughn Whelan, also based in Toronto, received the account through a referral, according to Jeff Jackett, marketing manager for The Beer Store. The agency's first project was a radio campaign for summer season. The campaign, which begins today, will also include in-store posters. The Beer Store operates 436 outlets in Ontario. The company previously used freelancers and did not have a formal agency.
