THE HOCKEY COMPANY SIGNS LICENSING DEAL WITH NHL

The Hockey Company of Westmount, PQ has signed a ten-year licensing and marketing deal with The National Hockey League. The agreement will begin with the 2004/2005 season and run until the end of the 2013/2014 season. The Hockey Company will hold the exclusive rights to supply and market Centre Ice apparel for the players and team personnel of the league's 30 teams. This includes team uniforms, practice gear, headwear and locker room apparel. The Hockey Company will also hold rights to manufacture and sell replica jerseys, headwear, T-shirts, fleece and other apparel products as well as ice hockey equipment for the 30 teams. A new research and design centre for new products will be created by The Hockey Company and the NHL in Montreal. In addition to an undisclosed initial payment to the NHL, the deal includes an annual multi-million dollar marketing commitment from The Hockey Company to the NHL and each of the teams.
