By Adnews Staff
Burger King Restaurants of Canada will begin a new Beyblades premium program on Jan. 6. The burger chain and Toronto-based animation company Nelvana will operate the program in all Canadian Burger King restaurants. Nelvana holds the licensing and distribution rights to Beyblade, a spinning toy property from Japan. Nelvana also produces an animated Beyblade series. As part of the premium program, Beyblade action figures and spinning tops will be distributed with Kids meals and Big Kids meals. The program will be supported with 10- and 15-second billboards on Teletoon and with in-restaurant materials. According to Burger King, the Beyblade program is one of several initiatives planned for the coming months. The television billboards were created by Deutsch of Toronto. The in-store materials were created by Kickstart Marketing & Design of Toronto.
