SALVATION ARMY DISTRIBUTES ELECTRONIC CHRISTMAS TREES

The central Ontario division of The Salvation Army is using an electronic marketing campaign to promote its annual Christmas donation drive. The Christmas Tree Greeting initiative was developed by Delvinia of Toronto and built by Splashworks.com of Toronto. Visitors to <http://www.splashworks.com/cgames/salvationarmy> can send an animated Christmas tree image to family members or friends. The service includes a feature which allows recipients to make a donation to the Salvation Army. Jeff Robertson, assistant development director for the Salvation Army's central Ontario division, said the campaign, a first for the organization, is a pilot project. It began on Nov. 25 and will run until Dec. 24.
