DIABETES FOUNDATION BREAKS VOLUNTEER CAMPAIGN

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, based in Markham, ON, has begun a public service announcement campaign to publicize the organization's need for volunteers. The outdoor and print campaign includes three executions created by Young & Rubicam of Toronto. The first shows a "Help Wanted" sign hanging in a store window. Small print in the middle of the sign reads, "to save a child's life." The second ad shows an "Inquire Within" sign beside a cash register. In smaller writing is the copy, "about how to keep a child from going blind." The third ad reads "Positions Available" with the addition, "to save a child's limbs from amputation." According to the foundation, the campaign is aimed at Canadians who may not realize the importance of volunteering. It will run nationally over the course of the next year. Public relations for the organization are handled by Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto.
