BRICK BREWERY PROMOTES PLASTIC BEER BOTTLE

Brick Brewing Co. Ltd. of Waterloo, ON is promoting its new plastic beer bottle. The 473 ml polyethylene terephthalate bottle has been designed to hold more beer than a standard glass bottle and stay cold longer. Brick's Yellow Label Lager will be distributed in the bottles, which will be sold in four-packs. Packaging for the plastic bottles was designed by Kruger Packaging of Rexdale, ON. Initially the bottles will be sold in Beer and LCBO stores in southern Ontario. To support the new bottle Brick has begun a promotion called "Brick Brewer's Dozen." Customers who purchase a specially marked 12-pack of Brick Amber, Waterloo Dark, Brick Premium, Formosa or Red Baron beer will also receive a plastic bottle of Yellow Label Lager. The plastic bottle introduction also invloves public relations from Pilot Public Relations of Toronto.
