The Premiers' Council on Canadian Health Awareness has begun a national campaign on health care funding. The campaign, created by the Toronto and Montreal offices of BBDO Canada, includes print and television components. The print advertising broke on Friday in 44 daily and national newspapers, according to Loretta O'Connor, executive director of the council. The first ad displays the text, "We're not looking to spend less on health care. We're just looking for the federal government to spend more," on a black background. The tagline is, "We're all in this together." It will be followed by a second execution in about three weeks, O'Connor said. Television advertising will break today on network and specialty stations including CTV, CBC, Canal D and Historia. This ad also uses a black background and delivers a message about the federal government's share of health care funding. The campaign will run until mid-November, when it will be re-evaluated, O'Connor said.
