UNION STATION TO BE VISITED BY PEACH PATROL
By Adnews Staff
A group of promotional workers called the Ontario Peach Patrol will be present at Toronto's Union Station tomorrow morning. The 25 people will distribute Ontario peaches to Go Train commuters during the morning rush hour. The promotion is to kick off the harvest season of Ontario Freestone Peaches. It is being organized by Faye Clack Marketing and Communications of Mississauga on behalf of the Ontario Tender Fruit Producer's Marketing Board. The board represents producers of tender fruit who market to the fresh or processing markets. Tender fruits includes peaches, pears, plums, prunes and cherries. At the event the peaches will be distributed in brown paper bags on which will be printed five steps for ensuring ripe tender fruit and a recipe for Ontario Peach Melba Grilled Chicken Salad. The recipe, which was created for the promotion, incorporates the products of the event's co-sponsors Renee's Gourmet and the California Walnut Commission. Coupons from these co-sponsors will also be distributed in the bags. Media relations, handled by Faye Clack, are promoting the event.
