RADIOMUTUEL TO EXPAND OMNI

Radiomutuel Inc. of Montreal is planning on spending $3 million for expansion in Quebec and Ontario of its out-of-home advertising division, Omni Outdoor and Company Limited Partnership. Also, the company has submitted to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission for two new specialty television services. One is a lifestyle channel called Canal Vie; the other is an adult music channel called Musimax. With its finances in good shape, Radiomutuel feels it is ready to expand. The company's earning went up 9%. to $15.3 million, in the three-month period ended Nov. 26, 1995. Earnings were up at Omni and at at radio stations operated by Radiomutuel, as well as at Radiomédia and MusiquePlus. FM stations operated by Radiomutuel and Radiomédia rose in the ratings last fall. The company operates eight FM radio stations and three AM stations, as well as Omni. It is co-owner of Radiomédia, which operates CKAC in Montreal, CHHC in Quebec City and the French language cable channel MusiquePlus.
