The Edward Jones brokerage of St. Louis, Missouri is expanding into B.C. in a month, with the first office opening in Victoria. The company may open 20 locations in the province in the next 12 months. The first Canadian market to see Edward Jones was Ontario, where the company now has 25 offices. Individual brokers are responsible for running advertising, which is created in-house by the company's U.S. headquarters. The Edward Jones motto is "Bringing Bay Street to Main Street." Its business is usually run from storefront offices in the communities where its customers live. There is one broker in each location. Edward Jones operates in 49 states in the U.S. Its revenues grew from $16 million(US) in 1977 to $720 million(US) in 1994.
