URBAN MAKES CHANGES IN MONTREAL, MARITIMES
By Adnews Staff
Urban Outdoor Trans Ad says a recent corporate re-organization will make it easier for customers to book transit advertising. The company says advertisers will be able to buy most of the country's major markets with one contract. Urban also says research and planning will be more consistent and contracts will be easier to execute. Urban's Toronto head office has taken over all transit advertising operations in the Maritimes from its Montreal division, Métrobus. Also, it has hired Métromedia Plus of Montreal handle another job formerly done by Métrobus: selling selling transit advertising for Urban in the rest of Canada west of Quebec, to Quebec-based advertisers. Métrobus will continue to sell billboards in Montreal and transit shelter advertising in Laval, Que. and on the south shore across from Montreal island. Métromedia Plus is also selling transit ads in Western Canada to Quebec advertisers for two companies in the Vancouver-based Jim Pattison Group: Seaboard Advertising and Hook Transit Advertising. Seaboard and Hook will, in turn, sell transit ads in Quebec to Western-based advertisers. Metromedia Plus has transit advertising contracts for all the major municipalities in Quebec.
