APPLE'S FASTEST PC
By Adnews Staff
Apple Computer Inc. of Cupertino, California is introducing its fastest Macintosh computer ever to the North American market this week. Called the Power Macintosh 9500, it has twice the power of the company's previous top-of-the-line model. The machine is also Apple's first computer that uses the Power PC 604 microprocessor. The chip was developed in partnership with Apple, International Business Machines Corp. of Armonk, New York and Motorola Inc. of Schaumburg, Illinois. In Canada, Apple is holding seminars for dealers and customers beginning this week in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver to promote the machine. The 9500 will also be displayed at trade shows.
