WORKPLACE SAFETY PUSH

Toronto-based Workplace Health and Safety Agency will launch the next phase of its campaign on June 26 targeting parents. It will use radio ads to discuss the importance of workplace safety for youth. Radio ads targeting people aged 15 to 24 begin this week to show them what their rights are when it comes to work safety. Radio ads that began last week show the scope of the problem. According to the Workplace Health and Safety agency, an average of 18,000 youths are injured at work each year. The ads were created by Freeman Rodgers Battaglia of Toronto. The Workplace and Safety Agency is an arm of the provincial Ministry of Labor, and funded by the Workers' Compensation Board. It develops programs for workplace health and safety, oversees a system that delivers health and safety requirements promotes awareness of occupational issues.
