SPRINT AFTER BIGGER CUSTOMERS
By Adnews Staff
After nine years of providing telecommunications services for small and medium-sized businesses, Sprint Canada is making moves that will allow it to pursue bigger clients. Technology borrowed from the company's state-side affiliate, Sprint U.S., will allow it to offer private line and virtual private network services. Large organizations with offices in different locations often find having their own private networks cost and time-effective. Using the service allows the customer to pay a fee based on the amount of usage on one of Sprint's lines instead of leasing a line. Sprint Canada currently offers the private line service and will be offering virtual private network voice and fax services in late August or early September. Sprint will gradually ad more features to the virtual private network service in the new year. Sprint will be pursuing clients through direct-mail handled in-house.
