BCE ADVERTISING PULLED FROM QUEBECOR

BCE Inc. has pulled its advertising from Quebecor Inc. according to a report in The Globe and Mail. No explanation was given to Quebecor, the report said, but according to Quebecor, BCE pulled its ads because Quebecor accused BCE's Bell ExpressVu satellite broadcaster of unfair competition. Bell ExpressVu competes with Quebecor's Videotron Ltee. A Bell Canada spokesperson said in the report that Quebecor had failed to meet contractual agreements with Bell Globemedia. Newspaper advertising will be pulled immediately. Broadcast ads on the TVA network will continue for another 30 to 45 days. It is not known if advertising on Canoe and other Quebecor Web sites will also be pulled immediately. Advertising for BCE is done by Cossette Communication Group.
