SECOND CUP PROMOTES MAPLE SYRUP LATTE

Toronto-based coffee retailer Second Cup will introduce a Maple Syrup Latte to its 400 Canadian locations on Monday. The drink combines espresso, steamed milk and maple syrup, topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with crushed maple sugar. To coincide with the product launch Second Cup will post a survey and petition on its Web site at <http://www.secondcup.com>. Visitors will be asked their opinions on Canada and can register a vote to have the Maple Syrup Latte named the "official specialty coffee of Canadians." Results will be posted on the site just before Canada Day. By participating in the survey consumers will be entered to win gift certificates from Roots, which has partnered with Second Cup for this promotion. For a limited time Roots customers will receive a voucher for a Maple Syrup Latte at the price of a regular brewed coffee. In-store materials created by Holmes & Lee and its design arm sisu are also promoting the new beverage. Public relations for Second Cup are handled by Strategic Objectives of Toronto.
