SURF MEDIA DEBUTS RADIO CONTENT SYSTEM

Toronto-based Surf Media Group has introduced what the firm describes as a rich-radio content system. According to company founder Paul Dowling, the service allows advertisers to extend their existing broadcast advertising campaigns using the radio station's Web site. Advertisers can offer content such as coupons, tickets, location maps and surveys associated with a radio spot. "Radio is the one media that can most easily incorporate the Internet into its current on-air system and be truly empowered by it," said Dowling. The system is being marketed to radio stations nationally. The individual stations are then responsible for selling the service to advertisers.
