ÉDUC'ALCOOL DELIVERS NEW ADVERTISING

Éduc'alcool began a new advertising campaign in Quebec daily newspapers over the weekend. The Montreal-based not-for-profit organization provides information, education and programs intended to help young people and adults make responsible decisions about drinking. The campaign, created by Communications bleu blanc rouge of Montreal, recommends that women not drink during pregnancy or while trying to get pregnant. Full-page ads display the words "Can I raise a glass to my baby's health?" running down the curved stomach of a pregnant woman. The ads also highlight a new brochure called "Pregnancy and Drinking: Your Questions Answered" published by Éduc'alcool, the Quebec College of Physicians and Quebec's Health Ministry. Éduc'alcool's goal for the campaign is to encourage as many women as possible to ask for a copy of the brochure, which contains information on topics such as alcohol consumption while breastfeeding. The campaign is also running in some women's magazines from March to June and will include a three-week radio campaign.
