THE COMMUNICATIONS GROUP HIRED BY CANCER FOUNDATION

The Head and Neck Cancer Foundation of Toronto has appointed The Communications Group, also of Toronto, its public relations agency of record. The agency will handle the account on a pro bono basis. The organization was founded three years ago by cancer survivor Mark Daniels. It supports research into head and neck cancer tumors, surgical techniques and new methods of early stage cancer detection. The Communications Group will provide national public relations support as the foundation attempts to "garner increased direct contributions and support from corporations, other foundations and from private donors," said Daniels. Fundraising events include an annual golf tournament, which takes place this year on May 30, and a direct mail campaign.
