SPIRIT OF SPORT FOUNDATION HIRES EVENT MANAGEMENT FIRM

The Toronto-based Spirit of Sport Foundation has hired Robin Turnbull Event Management, also of Toronto, to coordinate the organization's 29th annual Canadian Sport Awards. The event will take place in Toronto on March 26 and will be broadcast on CBC the next evening. The event will be hosted by CBC sports broadcaster Ron MacLean. Public relations for the event are being handled by the Toronto office of Opsis Communications and Marketing Inc. The Spirit of Sport Foundation is a charitable organization which seeks to ensure that sport make a positive contribution to Canadian society, Canadian athletes and the physical and moral development of Canadian youth. "The Canadian Sport Awards showcases sporting excellence across Canada and reminds Canadians how sport lifts the human spirit," said Dina Bell-Laroche, executive director of the foundation. The foundation is sponsored by the Government of Canada through Sport Canada. This year's awards are presented by Investors Group.
