UPDATE: AMMIRATI PURIS
By Adnews Staff
Toronto agency Ammirati Puris has lost two more accounts, according to recent media reports: Loblaw Companies Ltd. and Fuji Photo Film Canada. Fuji spokespersons in the reports said Ammirati was no longer the same agency they had hired. No comments have been forthcoming from Loblaw or from Ammirati regarding specific reasons for the account withdrawals. The Globe and Mail reported yesterday that the agency has laid-off almost half its employees. According to yesterday's National Post, Loblaws is already searching for a new agency and expects to make a decision within a month, while Fuji has not yet begun an agency review. In the past two weeks Ammirati has also lost the accounts of Labatt Brewing and Canada Bread and resigned the account of Sears Canada. Despite persistant rumours that New York-based parent Interpublic will fold the agency, Ammirati president Neil Everett maintains that the firm will remain open.
