KFC BEGINS CHICKEN SCRATCH CONTEST

KFC, part of Tricon Global Restaurants Canada, began a contest yesterday called Chicken Scratch. During the national promotion, 7.5 million scratch and game cards will be distributed to the 750 KFC outlets in Canada. The five-week contest will give away $80 million in cash and food prizes including ten $1 million cash prizes and 25 $100,000 cash prizes. KFC is promoting the contest with four weeks of national radio advertising, five weeks of national television advertising, transit advertising in Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg and Edmonton and with in-restaurant materials. The advertising was done by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto. Public relations are being handled by Advance Planning/MS&L, also of Toronto.
