STARBUCKS PROMOTES ANNIVERSARY

Starbucks Coffee Company is promoting its 30th anniversary with a collection of special merchandise and in-store collateral materials. One item is a limited edition coffee tumbler which, until October 31, customers can bring to participating locations to receive free refills of the coffee of the day. Other items include commemorative hats, T-shirts, mugs and gift packs. The retailer is also running its fifth annual "All Books For Children" book drive from September 7 to October 2. During the drive Starbucks retail locations in North America will collect new and used books to distribute to various literacy organizations. The National Post and TDI have donated advertising space for the book drive. A public service radio announcement to create awareness of the book drive has been distributed to stations. Starbucks developed the merchandise and in-store collateral materials for its 30th anniversary as well as the advertising and in-store materials for its annual book drive in-house. Public relations for the coffee chain in Ontario are handled by GCI Group of Toronto.
