TV GUIDE PRODUCES SPECIAL INTEREST ISSUE

TV Guide has produced a special interest publication which will be available on Canadian newsstands on September 11. The full-size, glossy magazine, which the company refers to as a "brand expansion", highlights the 51 Hottest Stars on TV with celebrity profiles and photographs. The company plans two more special interest issues between now and next spring on topics yet been determined according to Heidi Ferris, sales promotion manager for TV Guide Canada. Eighty-five thousand copies of the issue will be printed. Promotional support includes print ads in TV Guide and a consumer public relations campaign, both handled in-house. A tag on TV Guide's television spots for its fall preview issue, created by Margaret Kool Marketing of Edmonton, also promotes the special issue. TV Guide is published weekly by Transcontinental Media.
