SPRINT CANADA PROMOTES ANYTIME LONG DISTANCE

Toronto-based Sprint Canada is promoting the introduction of its Anytime 500 and Anytime 1,000 long distance plans with a national broadcast and print advertising campaign from vbdi. Residential customers who use these Anytime long distance plans can buy blocks of minutes at a flat rate with no restrictions. "Customers are demanding uncomplicated and totally flexible services from their telecommunications providers," said Phil Hartling, vice-president of marketing for consumer and small business services at Sprint Canada. "Sprint Canada continues to provide Canadians with reliable alternatives to choose from not only for long distance, but local service and Internet as well." Sprint Canada is introducing the plans with 30- and 60-second direct response television spots running on national and regional networks as well as local stations in Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary and Edmonton. The spots, which call the viewer to "free yourself to connect," will be followed with national newspaper advertising, direct mail and online banner ads breaking next month.
