SUN-RYPE BEGINS NATIONAL BACK-TO-SCHOOL PROMOTION

Sun-Rype Products Ltd. of Kelowna, BC has begun a national back-to-school promotion for its Fruit to Go and Energy to Go fruit snacks. In-store displays, print advertising and an Internet component are all targeting active families. The online promotion, being done in partnership with Telus, started Monday on Web sites MyBC.com, Alberta.com and MyTO.com. It involves co-sponsorship of a back-to-school section on the sites, banner advertising, co-branding on the site's mastheads and a consumer contest for an Apple ibook computer and a year's supply of Sun-Rype products. In-store materials such as inflatable pencils and apples are using the theme "School Supplies". Sun-Rype is also running advertisements for the next two months in Westcoast Families, Calgary Families, Edmonton Families and Ottawa Families. "During this time of year, we want to remind moms and dads that our juices and fruit snack products are perfect lunch items for active kids," said Magda Kapp, manager of public relations for Sun-Rype. The promotion was developed by Sun-Rype's agency of record, Palmer Jarvis DDB of Vancouver.
