7-ELEVEN INTRODUCES PROTEIN CANDY
By Adnews Staff
Convenience chain retailer 7-Eleven Inc. of Dallas, TX, is introducing a new line of nutritional candy in the U.S. called Ultimate Protein Candy. Available as chocolate pieces, peanut butter cups and chocolate chews, the line was developed in partnership with Biochem Sports and Fitness Systems. Ultimate Protein Candy is aimed at consumers who, according to 7-Eleven, love candy but want something a better for them. "Snacking has always been an important need for consumers on-the-go," said Jeff Hamill, vice-president of non-foods for 7-Eleven. "I was convinced we could come up with better-for-you snack foods without sacrificing flavor." Ultimate Protein candies, the latest addition to 7-Eleven's nutritional snack category, have between five and 10 grams of protein and calories ranging from 150 to 260. 7-Eleven is supporting the introduction of the line with in-store materials created in-house.
