KIA PROMOTES SPECTRA AND SEDONA
By Adnews Staff
Kia Canada, based in Mississauga, has released two new television spots to introduce Canadians to its Sedona minivan and Spectra four and five door models. "Runaway Pig" promotes the Sedona. The 30-second spot shows a family driving in the country. When they realize they have passed their location, they turn around. As the driver completes the turn, an out of control parade float rolls toward the minivan. The driver increases speed and avoids the float. "Daughter Discussion", a 30-second spot created for the Spectra, shows a father questioning his daughter's boyfriend. During the conversation it is unclear whether the boyfriend is describing what first attracted him to his new Spectra or to his girlfriend. The spot ends with the lines: "The new Spectra from Kia. It's about time everyone had a well-made car. And a good escape route." Both spots will run in English and French for 13 weeks. Advertising for Kia is done by Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto.
