YAHOO, FORD, BMG SEEK CANADIAN HITS

Ford Motor Company of Canada of Oakville, ON, Yahoo Canada and BMG Music Publishing Canada, both of Toronto, will spend the next month asking Canadian amateur artists to "Show Us Your Hits and Win." The online contest is open to all Canadians except residents of Quebec and runs until May 25. Amateur musicians enter by uploading their best original song to <http://www.yahoo.ca>. Five finalists from all the entries received will be chosen by a panel of judges from within the music industry. Finalists will participate in a live Web cast from the Reverb, a live music bar in Toronto, on June 21. The winning band will receive a Ford ZX3. Also, BMG will add $5,000 in cash or a limited publishing agreement to the prize. "Show Us Your Hits and Win" is initially being promoted with banner advertising on Yahoo.ca and with media relations activities. BMG will also support the contest throughout the music community by promoting it at events held during the run of the contest.
