TSN PLAYS SPORTSDESK CAMPAIGN

Toronto-based TSN has broken a new advertising campaign in support of the network's NHL playoff coverage featuring Bob McKenzie. A series of five television commercials began running today on TSN, CTV, CTV Newsnet, The Comedy Network, and Outdoor Life Network. "Audience research indicates that TSN's Bob McKenzie is one of Canada's most trusted and respected sources of hockey news and information," said Adam Ashton, director of marketing for TSN. "Our efforts further enhance awareness of TSN Sportsdesk as the most-watched sports news show and McKenzie as the most credible hockey source." In one spot, a fan who doesn't watch McKenzie's Insider Reports is seen wearing a Quebec Nordiques jersey, unaware that they're no longer in the league. The tagline is "Need help with the playoffs? Bob McKenzie, Your Hockey Playoff Insider." The spots will be supported with outdoor billboards in Toronto and Vancouver, prints ads in Starweek, The Toronto Sun television guide, the Official NHL magazine and The Globe and Mail, and with Web banner ads on Tsn.ca, Sympatico.ca, Thestar.com and Ctv.ca. Radio spots on Toronto stations Q107, CFNY, Fan 590 and 680 News and Vancouver stations CFMI, CFOX, CKNW and CKVX will also be used. Advertising for TSN is done in-house. Media is handled by The Media Company of Toronto.
