SPORTSNET PACIFIC BROADCASTS CANUCKS GAMES

A five-year broadcasting agreement between The Vancouver Canucks and Sportsnet Pacific begins this fall. Under the terms of the agreement, said to be the largest in the team's history, 45 games will be broadcast regionally on Sportsnet beginning in October. An additional 17 to 20 games will also be broadcast as part of the National Hockey League's national broadcast agreements, bringing the total number of Vancouver games to be broadcast during the 2001/2002 season to 65. The franchise is also currently reviewing broadcasting opportunities with over-the-air (non-cable) carriers and pay-per-view distributors.
