CORMARK MACPHEE STRAPS ON FILA ACCOUNT AGAIN

Cormark MacPhee has put the Fila account back on its books less than a year after losing the business. Last April Fila Canada of Richmond Hill, ON moved its account to TBWA/Chiat/Day of Toronto when parent company Fila International appointed TBWA as its agency of record. Toronto-based Cormark MacPhee had held the account for the two years previous to that. In a release, Fila Canada vice-president and general manager Michael Giese said, "Cormark MacPhee has proven they're capable of creating fresh excitement around the brand and they understand our needs." Fila Canada officials could not be reached before deadline for additional details. Cormark MacPhee will be responsible for Canadian advertising planning, media buying and creative for both Fila apparel and athletic footwear. A spring campaign will appear in Canadian magazines this April promoting Fila's women's workout wear and men's athletic footwear. The campaign uses the theme "Sport - Life" which is part of Fila's global creative strategy. Cormark MacPhee is also in the early stages of developing a fall campaign for Fila Canada.
