BLUE MEN RETURN IN INTEL CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
Intel Corporation, based in Santa Clara, CA, is promoting its new Pentium 4 processor with a $300 million worldwide marketing campaign. Television advertising again features Blue Man Group, a theatre troupe dressed all in blue that previously appeared in advertising for the Pentium 3 processor. A trio of 30-second spots, "Tubes", "Light Bulbs" and "Raising Four", will depict the group unveiling the number "4" in a variety of ways. A new tagline, "The Pentium 4 processor. The center of your digital world." is also introduced in the campaign. The commercials broke in the U.S. on Monday. In Canada the spots will be seen on Global, Citytv, TSN, History Television, TSN and various other stations beginning on February 26. Television advertising, created by Messner Vetere Berger McNamme Schmetterer/EURO RSCG of New York, is being accompanied with banner ads from Modem Media Poppe Tyson of San Francisco and in-store retail demonstrations. The campaign is scheduled to run until mid-May. Public relations for Intel of Canada, based in Rexdale, ON, are handled by Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto.
