GOODGOLL CURTIS DEPOSITS PUBLIC AWARENESS IN CONSUMERS THROUGH NEW CAMPAIGN

Toronto-based Goodgoll Curtis has launched a television and Internet advertising campaign for client Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation. The campaign is a national bilingual public awareness and education effort that broke yesterday. The CDIC is a crown corporation that protects the money deposited in its member financial institutions in case of their failure. The campaign is aiming to increase Canadian's awareness of deposit insurance and what exactly it covers. The first phase of television advertising broke yesterday for a five-week run. The second phase is scheduled for late January, again for a five-week run. Les Régie de l'assurance-dépôts du Québec, the deposit insurer in Quebec, has teamed up with CDIC to rollout the campaign in the Quebec market. Television advertising is being supported with an Internet presence launching in the next few weeks. Advertising for the CDIC is being accompanied with public and media relations from Shandwick International of Ottawa.
