GUTENBERG FAIR COMES TO TORONTO
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based ABC Canada Literacy Foundation is inviting advertises, marketers, corporations and media management to its first Gutenberg Fair. The fundraising event, originally scheduled to run in the Spring, was postponed and is now scheduled to take place this Thursday October 12 in Toronto. The fair is intended to raise funds for ABC Canada by auctioning off more than $900,000 of print and out-of-home advertising space at 65% off the rate card value. Teams of four or eight players are initially given 30,000 Gutenberg bucks or GUTE$ when they arrive at the event and then play a series of interactive games to increase their GUTE$. Team members can then combine their GUTE$ to bid at the auction tables. Media space has been divided into groups, which will be auctioned off during a particular time during the evening. Tickets are still available to attend the fair. For more information contact ABC Canada or go to the organization's Web site at <http://www.abc-canada.org>.
