EAST SIDE MARIO'S DOES TOMATO TANGO IN NEW PROMOTION

East Side Mario's will use a new 30-second television spot to publicize the American-Italian restaurant chain's Tomato Tango promotion beginning October 9. Tomato Tango features tomato-inspired dishes as well as a scratch and win contest. Customers receive a contest card when they order a Tomato Tango meal and beverage. Prizes include food and beverage items, Tomato Tango merchandise and a grand prize trip for two to La Tomatina, an annual tomato festival in Spain. The commercial breaks October 9 and runs for three weeks. The English-only spot portrays juggling chefs, tango dancers and spokes-character Vinnie, all of whom describe the promotion in song. The spot was created by The Ongoing Partnership of Toronto and is scheduled to run in Ontario only. The four-week Tomato Tango promotion is also being supported with a public relations campaign from Thornley Fallis Communications of Toronto.
