BRAMPTON TRANSIT COMMUTERS TUNE IN
By Adnews Staff
Commuters travelling on Brampton Transit buses will now be able to catch up on the latest news, sports, weather, community events and transit information. The city today unveiled transit buses that have been equipped with 10" televisions as part of a new agreement with IT-TV, based in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. Each bus will carry two TVs that, in addition to broadcasting, will carry both local and national advertising. Initially 25 of Brampton Transit's 109 buses will be equipped with the televisions. Twenty minutes out of every broadcasting hour will consist of advertising, four minutes of which will be given to the city. IT-TV will handle national advertising sales for the network, while Desa Promotions, part of the in-house Brampton Transit staff, will be responsible for local advertising sales. Brampton Transit is the fourth city to roll out the system on its transit buses, joining other Ontario cities Kitchener-Waterloo, Windsor and Ajax.
