TELETOON BEGINS DEBUTING NEW LOOK
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based animation station Teletoon is launching a new creative look this fall that compares the zany cartoon world of the station to the real world, Hillary Firestone, vice president, network marketing and promotions, explained. The new look is intended to drive home the station's tagline "It's Unreal" by bringing the zany world to the Teletoon brand, she said. "From a visual standpoint, the new look brings the cartoon world to Teletoon as a background." Advertising, Web site and on-air elements will roll out over the next few months featuring the station's new look and promoting its new shows as well as its returning shows. One execution for the station's new show Courage, The Cowardly Dog, reads "Our dogs smell fear, just before they faint." Another, which features the Wolverine character from the station's new X-Men show, plays on the habit of nail biting and feature's Wolverine trademark metal fingers. The station has already begun launching its look with a series of transit and prints ads. Teletoon's new creative look was jointly developed by its on-air agency Spin Productions, its off-air agency Griffin Bacal Volny and its in-house team.
