BURGER KING'S CANADIAN BUSINESS NOT EFFECTED BY REVIEW

Burger King's Canadian advertising assignment is not expected to be affected by its U.S. parent company's agency review. Doug Fletcher, marketing manager of Toronto-based Burger King Restaurants of Canada Inc., said the Canadian account is not changing hands. Ammirati Puris of Toronto, which has handled the burger's chain's advertising for the past two and a half years, will continue to hold the account, according to Fletcher. He also said no review is planned for the Canadian portion of Burger King's advertising. Burger King Corporation, based in Miami, Florida, announced on Tuesday that it is putting its $400 million U.S. advertising account into review in an effort to improve sales throughout North America. Currently the account is held by Lowe Lintas, which will be invited to participate in the review.
