Travel Alberta has awarded its Americas creative advertising assignment to Vancouver-based Bryant, Fulton & Shee. The agency had been shortlisted for the account with Palmer Jarvis DDB, MGM Communications, Ogilvy & Mather and incumbent FWJ Advertising and Public Relations. The assignment includes Travel Alberta's 2001 Destination Awareness campaign that is designed to attract travellers to the province. The campaign, scheduled to launch in February 2001, runs primarily in the U.S. focusing on the Pacific Northwest, Texas, California and Illinois markets. In Canada, the campaign runs in the Toronto market. Don Boynton, director of communications for Travel Alberta, said budget figures for next year were still being determined but confirmed the 2000 campaign that ran in March had a budget of $4 million.
