Brett Marchand, vice president of marketing at Molson Canada, is leaving his job at the end of the month to assume the position of president and chief marketing officer at a new Web-based company called OnsideKick.com. Marchand joined Molson less than a year ago and was responsible for the development and execution of the Molson Canadian brand campaigns, including the recent "Rant" spot. Marchand is launching the new company with partners Steve Shamas, COO, Mitchell Osak, CFO and David Remmer, CTO.

Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting has hired several employees for Food Network Canada. David O'Brien takes on the role of senior creative director for the channel. He previously held the same role at HGTV Canada and History Television. Lorraine Bradshaw joins Food Network Canada as marketing manager. Bradshaw previously held the same title at Showcase and Life Network. Tara Lapointe adds to her responsibilities as publicist for History Television those of communications manager for Food Network Canada. Cesar Rodriguez has been appointed network coordinator for the channel. Most recently he held the same position at Showcase.

The Canadian Marketing Association has named Ed Cartwright director of communications. Cartwright will be responsible for the CMA's communications strategy including development of the CMA Web site, media and public relations. He joins the CMA from the Canadian Gas Association where he was director of public affairs and corporate secretary.
