Keith Marnoch has left his position as communications manager for The Discovery Channel. Marnoch assumed the role less than a year ago after transferring from TSN's communications department, where he worked as communications officer. Until a replacement is named all communication functions are being handled by Steve Rayment, director of advertising and communications. Marnoch will assume a new position with The Globe and Mail's interactive division on July 24.

Calgary-based Stormworks Inc. has appointed Martin Kemp its new media relations strategist. Kemp joins Stormworks from A-Channel Television where he worked as manager of corporate communications. Stormworks provides technology and branding solutions for business in the electronic marketplace.

Cohn & Wells has appointed Thomas Chu director of customer knowledge. In this role Chu will lead the agency's data strategy division. Prior to joining Cohn & Wells, Chu was a consultant in the knowledge engineering department at Equifax Canada.

Montreal-based production house Voodoo Arts has gained representation for Didier Kwak in North America. Kwak, a French special effect director, is now available for the production of commercials and special effect for feature films. In the past year Kwak has directed special effects in commercials for clients such as Volkswagen, American Express, Yoplait and Fiat.
